Restricted content and papers from past conferences
Some Material on this website is restricted and may only be accessed by current members of BFSLA. You acknowledge that if you cease to be a current member or your membership fee is overdue by 90 days or more, you are not entitled to access any restricted material and agree that you will not attempt to do so.
Papers from past conferences are only available to current members of BFSLA. BFSLA does not take any steps to ensure that papers are free from error, either at the date they were prepared, the date they were uploaded onto our website, or the date you access them. BFSLA does not warrant that the information contained in papers from past conferences is accurate or current.
Event registration, programme changes and cancellation policy
You may register to attend a BFSLA event up to and including the date specified as the closing date for registrations. BFSLA may accept registrations after the closing date in its sole discretion. BFSLA may decline a registration if the venue capacity is reached prior to the closing date for registrations or otherwise in its sole discretion.
Details regarding BFSLA events are correct as at the time they are advertised on the BFSLA website. BFSLA reserves the right to cancel or amend the details of BFSLA events at any time.
If you are no longer able to attend a BFSLA event, a substitute delegate is welcome at no extra cost. Alternatively:
- if there is a charge for attending the event – we will provide a full refund less a $50 service charge for cancellations received in writing (letter or email) at least 10 working days prior to the event. Regrettably, no refund can be made for cancellations received less than 10 working days prior to the event.
- If there is no charge for attending the event – there is no charge for cancellations received in writing (letter or email) at least 10 working days prior to the event.
Online payments and payments generally
Payments in Australian dollars can be made online by MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Payments due in New Zealand dollars cannot be made online. Online payments will be processed via a secure payment gateway provided by Commonwealth Bank of Australia. BFSLA is not responsible for Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
All credit card payments, whether made online or otherwise, will incur the following surcharges: 1.5% for Visa and MasterCard and 3% for American Express. Supplies made in Australia will be charged in AUD and processed in Australia. Supplies made in New Zealand will be charged in NZD and processed in New Zealand. Membership and sponsorship fees are to be paid in currency of the place where the member or sponsor is usually resident; if the member or sponsor is usually resident outside of Australia or New Zealand, fees will be payable in AUD.
Please note that your financial institution may charge fees for foreign currency payments.
Warranties
While BFSLA has taken reasonable steps to ensure that information is free from error (other than papers from past conferences), BFSLA does not warrant the accuracy, adequacy or completeness of Material on the BFSLA website. All information is subject to change without notice. BFSLA does not warrant that the BFSLA website or Third Party websites will be free from viruses, or that access to the BFSLA website or Third Party websites will be uninterrupted. Nothing on the BFSLA website constitutes legal advice. BFSLA does not warrant that Material on this website will not infringe any person’s intellectual property rights.
Limitation of Liability
Subject to any responsibilities implied by law and which cannot be excluded, BFSLA is not liable to you for any losses, damages, liabilities, claims and expenses (including but not limited to legal costs and defence or settlement costs) whatsoever arising out of or referable to your use of (or inability to use) the BFSLA website, Material on the BFSLA website or Third Party Material, whether in contract, tort including negligence, statute or otherwise.
Liability of BFSLA for a breach of a consumer guarantee or a condition or warranty implied by law and which cannot be excluded, is limited to the extent possible, at BFSLA’s option, to:
- the supply of the goods or services again;
- the repair of the goods; or
- the payment of the cost of having the goods or services supplied again or repaired.
Termination
These terms of use (and the agreement constituted by your use of the Material on this website) and your access to the BFSLA website may be terminated at any time by BFSLA without notice. All restrictions, licences granted by you and all disclaimers and limitations of liability by BFSLA will survive termination, however, you will no longer be authorised to access the BFSLA website.

IP address
BFSLA collects your IP address for your interaction with various parts of the BFSLA website. Your IP address is the identifier for your computer when you are using the internet.
Your IP address will not otherwise be used by us or released to any third party except in the case of inappropriate behaviour or for monitoring and addressing actual or potential security and fraud issues, such as unauthorised access to your or our computer systems or Material on this website.
