in Events, News

The 29th Annual BFSLA Conference in Queenstown has been acclaimed by many ‘as one of the best ever’ with high praise for the topics selected and also the depth of knowledge of the presenters which included some lively debate at some of the panel sessions.

The Welcome Function at Skyline was again well received with a perfectly clear starlight night making the gondola ride affording a spectacular sight of Queenstown below.

At the Conference Dinner, BFSLA President Graham Curd was pleased to announce the winners of the BFSLA Research Prize with the pool being divided between Prof. Chris Hare at lecturer in Law at the University of Auckland and Sam Hiebendaal a Solicitor with Bell Gully in Auckland.

The Scholarship this year was also split between Maree Newson, Solicitor at Chapman Tripp in Wellington – who is taking up studies in New York and Awyonde McCunn who will be studying at Oxford. Awyonde was able to attend the Conference and received his award at the dinner.
